I decided to skip the month of February.

Because for all intensive purposes, it’s the worst one.

That’s why it’s the shortest.

And all the best months have 31 days instead of 30.

Including this month!

Which is the chosen month for celebrating my birth.

And NO, February isn’t the worst month because of Valentine’s Day and this isn’t going to be a “Boo Valentine’s Day is just aweful” rant because, actually, I think Valentine’s Day is kind of nice and I think it’s real sweet when I see strapping lads on the street carrying bouquets of flowers for their hunniebunnies. And I do condemn the “Valentines Day was created by Hallmark or the US Government or The Devil” argument because NO, it wasn’t. People have celebrated their love on (or at least around) this day for centuries. Fact. And also, this viewpoint doesn’t make you deep it just makes you look like you think you’re deep.

And also, NO March isn’t the best month because of my birthday, it’s the best because it heralds in the coming of Spring and puts everyone in the best mood. Like on days like today, when its actually warm enough out where I don’t need a coat! March doesn’t try to deceive us like April does… No, March reminds us that, you know, It’s New England and it’s still going to be cold sometimes. So it throws us a few chilly nights just so that we remember.

It’s a very courteous month.

Speaking of courteous! This is a weak bridge, I know, BUT something monumental has happened.

Dior has fired JOHN GALLIANO.

For making anti-semitic comments while drunk while being videotaped on someone’s cameraphone.

I just hate that this happened. But I’d forgive his folly.

He was inebriated!

P.R. COULD HAVE SPUN THIS! Somehow…

He is DIOR. There for 15 YEARS!!

And forgive me for saying, but without Galliano, Dior could have ended up like countless other vintage fashion houses that ceased operations.

I hate that things like this ruin careers. And yes, he shouldn’t have been so reckless. But everyone has said something ridiculous, out loud, at some point or another  and it just so happened that Galliano had the misfortune of being taped. That is the only difference between him and the rest of the world (Well, most of it. Youtube.)

This is a sad day.

I will always love you, JOHN GALLIANO!
