A whole month…

It’s been a while. I am having a hard time keeping my soul’s desires satiated while holding down a job. Battle axe that I am. I guess I’ll go into that a little bit. It’s consisted of much travel, but that part’s over now. For which I’m kind of relieved… And this idea that I…

2011 SEE YA

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQjA5rDFMjo

Weird. The year’s almost over and everything’s different!

I think I’ve had the kind of year everyone tries to have every January… picked up some new hobbies, kept this blog up!, I bought a car yesterday–which is exciting–switched jobs, frolicked in rolling hills and felt the dew of summer! Metaphysically speaking. I also travelled quite a bit, which felt good.

Plus it’s nice having somewhere to go every so often. It gives you stuff to talk about with your peers. There’s the hype of GOING. Then your loved ones treat you even a little bit special just because, you know, there’s always the risk that you’ll die somehow. True.

So, its nice. Plus, last time, when I was in Zurich for a (god forsaken 11 hour layover those sadists) layover, I was only steps away from a crazy man shooting pigeons. He could have shot me.

The risk of dying when you’re at a destination that requires air travel is high. I survived the year! Or that you’ll love the place you’re going to so much that you’ll never come back. This one is more likely.

Also I did a lot of crafts, which is just nice. Cooked more–definately a good skill to invest in. I have emerged more well rounded than I began.

I suppose were doing quite well if we can do at least one good, decent, difficult-to-do thing every year. Otherwise we face only the wrath of stagnation!

Krismus

The year is almost over and I still haven’t done half the things I wanted to do: Not that I can do them now! 1. Make Christmas feast. 2. Make Christmas wreaths out of seemingly unrelated materials 3. Make Christmas homemade wrapping paper 4. Make Christmas Eggnog I did make cookies though. Since I’m so…

Thanksomuchgiving

Well! I’ve made a few Thanksgiving contributions for good measure. With as many invisible layers of love as I could fit. Roasted acorn squash, chocolate/peanut butter chip cookies, and cake! Strawberry, with sprinkles and multiple layers. Two. Also this is an appropriate time to thank people who read this blog. Out of the trillions of…

Iron Crane Curtain

You’ve really got to hand it to those Anthropologie employees for cranking out gorgeous art installations made (seemingly) of trash, discarded pieces of fabric, recyclable paper and various layers of paint. It’s not easy making fantastic, artistic feats; a realization I’ve placed some personal stock in during the course of the past few weeks. Yes,…

Zebra Tea Time

You really have to treat yourself every once in a while. Money’s only good for so much, and, really, paying for an experience is a gift– a privilege that isn’t bestowed on as many as you might think. One of my friends took me to tea at Upstairs on the Square. I had never been…

Harajuku Mini!

I love Gwen Stefani– I didn’t think it was possible to love her more. What a great time to have a 3-9 year old. Obviously, I don’t. But if I did, I would buy all of this: Stefani started in 2003 with L.A.M.B., followed up by her Japanese-inspired Harajuku Lovers line in 2005. Last year…

Improvements

I’ve been investing some R&R into this blog, if you’ve noticed the shiny new domain. For those of you with iPads, you’ll be pleasantly greeted with this image when you save my blog onto your home screen as a button. Behold: Pretty Huh? I’m almost done with my origami crane curtain. Here’s a little something…
