Day Off

I Dream of Jeannie
Image via Wikipedia

I’ve set up a favorable situation for myself at work. I, still, am paid hourly. I make decent money, its just that I don’t have vacation days or sick days or whatever fancy things people get. I do however have two health insurance providers, so that’s pretty cool.

Anyway, I decided that if I am paid hourly and if my superiors are okay with it, I will work only four days a week. There’s no sense in doing 9-5 five days a week if I don’t have to.

This is Day Off #1.

I need days off for doing several types of things: Finding a primary care doctor, figuring out how to unlock my 3GS–turns out its really really hard, cleaning my room, sitting at coffeehouses in cambridge, organizing my clothes, PAINTING. I haven’t even done that in months, catching up on House, watching seasons one and two of That Girl, watching seasons one and two of Bewitched, watching the entire I Dream of Jeannie box set that I just bought… reading books…

The point of what I’m trying to say is…

I need more time for all of my hobbies. And the Universe has given it to me.

And you know, I thought they wouldn’t have taken kindly to my new schedule, but everyone at work loved it! They said it fits into the schedule all the better and that it would give me more time to complete everything since I leave later now and they gave me a bigger new desk which fits all of my plants really nicely! You can only see one plant in the picture… But there are four more on the desk and you can’t see them in the picture because the desk is just so big. …IIIII know!

I am overjoyed. And happy.
