It’s sad that humanity has advanced so far, to the point where some people don’t even know what they’d do if they didn’t have their smartphones by their side.
It’s day two of no phone. And this is not bad.
I don’t see much of a change. If anything, the experience is liberating. Anything can happen to me! Think about it this way. When you’re late or you mess up, people never get mad at you for being late or messing up. They get mad at you for not calling and telling them about it! Now. I truly can do anything I want because even if I am late or mess up, I don’t have a phone! Poor me. So I can’t call! And everyone else takes pity on you for not having a phone because as far as the greater western human population is concerned, not having a phone is synonymous with solitary confinement.
But how will you reach anyone if you don’t have a phone!?
Carrier pigeons, mom.
Anyway so my liberation experimentation is under-way. At least until my old phone is fixed. In the meantime, I will re-read Thoreau. Maybe I’ll visit Walden Pond. If I’m making the trip, I should at least stop by the DeCordova Sculpture Park! I can collect leaves. Get back to nature. I can protest the state of intellectualism at Harvard. I can feed my soul and give my spirit wings to float above the physical. Or electronical. I will walk on my own feet. I will work with my own hands. I will reap the Divine Soul which inspires me and all men. I will let the “disease” consume me. Until Friday.
Also, I ended up selling the 3GS yesterday resulting in a $100 profit for me!
I was at Starbucks today and came THIS CLOSE to buying Katy Perry’s CD. I know.
